“I had my work originally done in 1983 and hated the tattoo. After 6 hours in the chair I am over the moon with the outcome and the artistic detailing… everyone in the studio makes you feel welcome and puts you at ease as soon as you walk through the door with cups of tea and Yum Yum treats.”

“Very easy to book appointment, communication was spot on. Very welcoming and calm atmosphere. There was lots of opportunities to make changes and lots of check ins to make sure I was happy with the final design including placement. Lucy put me at ease throughout.”

“I was so amazed how quickly I got my fantastic tattoo, my first tattoo at 63. No pain, I love it. I will be back soon for my second one.”

“Love, love my new tattoo done by Tabitha… Had a cover up of a 30 year old tattoo and you wouldn’t know it had ever been there.”

How it works

From first message to healed.

  1. No. 1

    Tell us the idea

Message the studio on Messenger or Instagram, or use our enquiry form. Say what you want, where it’s going and roughly how big, then send any pictures you love.

  2. No. 2

    We draw it for you

Your artist designs it around you and your placement, then tweaks it until it’s right. As one client put it: “lots of opportunities to make changes and lots of check ins”.

  3. No. 3

A booking fee holds your date

A non-refundable booking fee secures the appointment and comes off the price on the day. Need to move it? Give 48 hours’ notice and it carries over.

  4. No. 4

    Stencil, check, then ink

The design goes on as a stencil first so you can see exactly where it sits.

  5. No. 5

    Heal it, then show us

You go home with aftercare advice from your artist. We love a healed photo. Plenty of clients come back for the next one.

Cover-ups · refreshes · removal

Old ink, new story.

Faded, dated or just not you any more? A lot of the work that comes through this door is fixing the past, whether that’s a 1983 tattoo or a thirty-year-old piece “you wouldn’t know had ever been there”.

Luke and Tabitha plan cover-ups around what’s already there, using dark opaques and clever design so the old one disappears. If a tattoo is too heavy to cover, RazaLight can fade it with laser first, in the same studio.

Flash & walk-in days

Pick a design, walk in, sit down.

A few times a year the artists put out a sheet of pre-drawn flash at a set price and open the doors to walk-ins. Last Halloween it was £31 an hour. Follow @inkwelltattoostudio_ so you don’t miss the next one.
